Who we are
Pathfinders Empowerment Network (PEN) is a Company Limited by Guarantee, founded in 2016 and based at P.O. Box 153506, Mukono, Central Region, Uganda. This policy explains what personal information we collect through pathfindersug.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you complete our contact form we collect your name, your email address and the content of your message. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to continue a conversation you have started with us about membership, the Academy, consulting, partnerships or speaking.
If you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp using the details published on this site, we hold that correspondence in order to reply and to keep a record of our dealings with you.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting and security providers record technical information when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the time of your visit. This is used to keep the site available and secure, and to identify abuse.
Cookies
This site sets a small number of cookies that are necessary for it to function and to protect against malicious traffic. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
How we use your information
- To respond to enquiries and provide the information or services you have asked for.
- To administer membership, programmes and events where you have chosen to take part.
- To keep the website secure, available and working properly.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers that allow this site and our correspondence to function — our web hosting provider, our network security and content delivery provider, and our email provider. These providers process information on our behalf.
Our pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests those font files from Google, which involves your IP address being transmitted to Google.
We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and to maintain a reasonable record of our relationship with you. Membership and programme records are kept for as long as you remain involved with PEN and for any period afterwards that we are required to keep them. Technical logs are kept for a short period only.
Your rights
You may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, to delete it, or to stop using it for a particular purpose. You may also withdraw consent where our use of your information relies on your consent. To make any of these requests, contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable period.
Security
This site is served over an encrypted connection and sits behind a security service that filters malicious traffic. No website can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the information entrusted to us.
Children
This website is intended for adults. Where PEN runs programmes involving young people, information about participants is collected offline, with the consent of a parent or guardian, and is not gathered through this website.
External links
Our site links to other organisations’ websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will appear on this page with a revised date at the top.
